Maintenance Technician | Ingersoll Rand | Kent, WA
Basic Function:
Installs and repairs electrical systems, apparatus, and
electrical and electronic components of industrial machinery and
equipment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other
duties may be assigned.
- Assumes responsibility for the maintenance and repair of all
production equipment including NC, CNC and manual equipment.
- Performs repair of electrical, electronic, and mechanical components
of the machinery.
- Installs ball screws, roller way packs, bearings, gears, chip
conveyers, augars.
- Performs checks (eg. ball bar) and alignments of machinery.
- Plans machine repair projects including; scope of work statement, bill
of materials,
labor/manpower planning, contractor interface and getting job quotes
- Documents changes to the production equipment, systems and machine
tools
- Changes prints to reflect facility, machine and systems changes
- Orders repair parts as necessary
- Records planned maintenance data, safety inspections, and all other
planned
maintenance forms
- Fills out purchase requisitions and circulates for approval
- Sizes and installs electrical motor starters, disconnects, wire and
conduit sizes, safety
circuits, welder services and magnetic controls
- Determines the load on existing electrical circuits
- Performs installation, troubleshooting and repair of: adjustable speed
and feedback
speed drives, AC/DC drives, PLCs, CNC controls, encoders, feedback
scales, machine probes, power supplies, electrical valves and other
electronic devices currently in use on the machine tools and other
equipment.
- Ensures that all machines and tools used/are moved safely when working
with a contractor or with a maintenance team
- Moves and reconnects all auxiliary equipment to be used at the
machinery (tables, storage cabinets, etc.)
- Other facilities and maintenance tasks as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must
be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements
listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability
required.
- Knowledge of and responsibility for CNC equipment and controls,
specifically those
made by Haas and Okuma;, manual tools; AC & DC control devices;
paint booth systems; hydraulic and pneumatic systems; and plumbing
systems.
- Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot problems with machine tools
independently without
supervision.
- Ability to communicate with and work effectively with others in the
maintenance team,
operators, and supervisors.
- High school diploma or general equivalent diploma (GED).
- Language skills: Read and interpret documents such as safety rules,
operating maintenance instructions, blueprints, drawings, etc. Ability
to write routine reports and correspondence and effectively present
information to other employees and management.
- Mathematical skills: Basic shop math; add, subtract, multiply, and
divide, in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions,
and decimals.
- Strong electrical aptitude and strong ability to trouble shoot
electrical and electronic devices.
- Good problem solving skills with ability to offer recommendation for
electrical and electronic repairs.
Safety Requirements:
To perform this job, an individual must wear OSHA
approved safety glasses with side shields, hearing protection (ANSI
approved ear plugs/muff) when exposed to noise levels above 80 D.B.A.
and steel toe safety shoes.
