Job Description:
The Production Control Supervisor provides leadership
and support to the Production Control group supporting the Consolidated
Torpedo Program at the Torpedo and Readiness Center in Keyport,
Washington.
The Production Control (PC) group supports torpedo assembly by ensuring
material availability to assembly on time and at the correct
configuration. PC is an integral part of the overall operations team
controlling work-in-process, managing priorities and interfacing with
other team members including Operations, Purchasing, Planning,
Manufacturing Engineering and Quality.
This position will:
- Support manufacturing efforts, prepares and communicates weekly and
monthly status of program manufacturing performance to management and
the customer.
- Support new business proposals.
- Works closely with factory floor personnel, providing
advice and guidance in prioritizing work and resolving any issues
impacting build schedules.
- Works with sourcing to ensure piece part purchase orders are placed and
that promise dates support the manufacturing build plan.
- Is the Production Planner lead in support of the Integrated Product
Team to make sure operations process is successful.
- Works with logistics to ensure piece parts are being pulled to support
kit plans and end item deliverables are shipped in a timely fashion.
Production Control Manager
Basic Qualifications:
- Minimum 6 years experience in a Production Control position or similar
discipline
- Minimum 2 years experience in a formal leadership role.
- Minimum 5 years experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to organize and focus employees.
- Understanding of Material Requirements Planning (MRP)
- Strong communication skill and ability to influence peers, employees and
leadership.
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes including mechanical assembly,
machining, soldering, electrical test and inspection.
- Experience with manufacturing processes in the Aerospace/Defense
Industry.
- Ability to summarize and utilize data to plan work center job loading.
- Working ability with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Project)
products.
- Secret level security clearance existing or ability to obtain an Interim
clearance within 30 days.
- Prior experience interacting with senior levels of leadership
effectively - including the customer, internal (Raytheon), teammates and
suppliers: clear, crisp and timely critical comunication skills
strength, especially connecting with direct leadership - "no surprises"
- and communicating effectively and efficiently in a distributed
business model.
- Demonstrated organizational skills and excellent communication skills
including listening, oral and written discussion and presentation
skills.
- BS Degree
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience working in a Department of Defense or similar
environment.
- Experience working with complex electro-mechanical assemblies.
- Strong understanding of the FAR (Federal Acquisition Regulation).
- Experience in material and inventory control type systems such as
Kanban, SMI, Continuous Flow Manufacturing, etc.
- Experience with an MRP or equivalent manufacturing system.
- Demonstrated LEAN experience.
- APICS or Lean Practitioner certification.
- Exceptional judgement and decision-making skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with special focus on achieving active
participation of appropriate individuals across the business.
- Comprehensive planning skills for both short-term requirements and
long-term opportunities.
- Strong ability to succinctly synthesize data in to information.
- Ability to analyze data and reports to identify issues and develop
recommended courses of action to management.
- Ability to achieve results and effectiveness of multiple functions
considered to be of significant importance to the business's long-term
success.
- Attention to detail. Responsive. Actiona nd deadline oriented.
Self-directed, ability to work independently. Flexible.
